Pep Guardiola Celebrates 250 Premier League Wins with Manchester City

This is precisely what Pep Guardiola is planning following Manchester City's 1-0 victory over Brentford, which has secured his place in an exclusive group of managers who have achieved this feat with a single club.
Only Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester United) and Arsene Wenger (Arsenal) have previously reached this milestone, and Guardiola is already organizing a dream dinner for football fans to commemorate the landmark.
"It’s an honor to be alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger; I will invite them to a nice dinner," said Guardiola, who is currently in his 10th season with City.
"It’s a pleasure to be part of this chapter in Premier League history; I’m really pleased. Now, let’s aim for 250 more wins."
Guardiola reached this milestone in just 349 top-flight matches, achieving it 55 games faster than Ferguson, who took 404 matches, and Wenger, who reached the mark in 424 matches.
In the Premier League era, David Moyes has also achieved 250 wins, but he has done so across multiple clubs.
Guardiola joins a list of 16 other managers who have reached this tally in the history of English top-flight football, including notable figures like Bill Shankly (Liverpool), Matt Busby (Manchester United), and Brian Clough (Nottingham Forest).
Guardiola's Record Speaks for Itself
It has become increasingly difficult to exclude Guardiola from discussions about the greatest managers in English football history.
Since his arrival at City in 2016, the 54-year-old has led the team to six Premier League titles, one Champions League trophy, two FA Cups, and four League Cups.
In 2023, City became only the second club to achieve a historic Treble, winning the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup in the same season.
However, there have been other significant milestones on the road to 250 wins under Guardiola’s leadership.
In the 2017-18 season, City became the first team to accumulate 100 points in a single season, winning 32 out of 38 matches, and they are the only team to have won four consecutive Premier League titles.
During this dominant period, City averaged 28 wins per season, with only Ferguson winning more titles (13) than Guardiola’s six.

City has surpassed 90 points in the Premier League in four of Guardiola’s nine full seasons, a remarkable feat considering that benchmark had only been reached five times prior to his tenure in England.
Guardiola’s win percentage of 71.6% is the highest in the division’s history, surpassing Ferguson’s 65.2% and Antonio Conte’s 62.9%.
Across his 349 Premier League matches, Guardiola’s teams have scored 842 goals and conceded 299.
