Rangers Resume Talks with Danny Rohl for Head Coach Position
Rangers have reopened discussions with Danny Rohl regarding the position of head coach, just days after he had previously ruled himself out of consideration.
This development follows the collapse of negotiations to bring Kevin Muscat to Ibrox, which had progressed to advanced stages.
Rohl, who last managed Sheffield Wednesday in the English Championship, was initially favored by some at Ibrox before the club shifted its focus to Muscat.
Rangers have stated that they are continuing talks with several candidates and are aiming to appoint a successor to the recently dismissed Russell Martin within the coming days.
Martin's tenure ended after 17 games on October 5, with Rangers positioned eighth in the league, nine points behind champions Celtic and two points adrift of leaders Heart of Midlothian.
Under Martin, Rangers also failed to qualify for the Champions League and suffered defeats in both of their Europa League matches.
The team currently sits sixth in the Scottish Premiership, 13 points behind Derek McInnes' side, having secured just one win from their last eight games. They are set to face Brann in the Europa League on Thursday at 17:45 BST.
Muscat, currently managing Chinese club Shanghai Port, remains in contention for the Super League title, with the race potentially extending into November or December. The discussions between Rangers and Muscat fell through due to the potential delay in his start date, which rendered the deal impractical for both parties.
