Real Madrid has signed Spanish defender Alvaro Carreras from Benfica.
The 22-year-old joins the Spanish club in a deal reportedly valued at £43 million and has agreed to a six-year contract.
Carreras was part of Real Madrid's youth academy from 2017 to 2020 before moving to Manchester United.
During his time with Manchester United, he was loaned to Preston and Granada but did not feature for the first team before transferring to Benfica in January 2024.
Carreras contributed to Benfica's second-place finish in the Portuguese top-flight last season and was part of their squad at the Club World Cup.
