Roberto Carlos Provides Health Update After Medical Procedure
Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos is currently "recovering well" following a preventative medical procedure.
The former Real Madrid left-back, now 52, shared an update on his health with fans through his Instagram account, posting a photo of himself smiling from a hospital bed.
In his message, Carlos addressed speculation surrounding his health, specifically denying rumors that he had suffered a heart attack.
"I would like to clarify recent information that has been circulating," he stated. "I recently underwent a preventative medical procedure, which was planned in advance with my medical team. The procedure was successful, and I am well. I did not suffer a heart attack.
"I am recovering well and look forward to returning to full fitness and resuming my professional and personal commitments soon. I sincerely thank everyone for their messages of support, care, and concern. I want to reassure everyone that there is no cause for concern.
"My heartfelt thanks go to the entire medical team who took care of me."
Carlos enjoyed a distinguished career, winning four La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies during his 527 appearances for Real Madrid. He also lifted the World Cup with Brazil in 2002. Renowned for his exceptional free-kick ability, his career included stints at Palmeiras, Inter Milan, Fenerbahce, and Corinthians.
