Sheffield United's Struggles Continue as Manager Sent Off
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder was sent off after kicking the ball into the stands and inadvertently hitting a fan, as his team suffered a defeat against Southampton, marking their seventh loss in eight Championship matches.
Wilder received his marching orders from referee Adam Herczeg for the incident that occurred as he was leaving the field for halftime, just moments after Southampton was awarded a penalty during first-half stoppage time.
Although Adam Armstrong missed the penalty, Ross Stewart found the net twice within seven minutes of the second half, overturning Tyrese Campbell's impressive opener for the Blades. Sheffield United had a last-minute header from Sydie Peck disallowed.
This defeat means that Sheffield United has lost all four of their home matches at Bramall Lane this season, marking their worst start at home since 1954.
