Taylor Swift References Real Madrid in New Album
Taylor Swift has referenced Spanish football club Real Madrid in her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The American pop sensation released her twelfth studio album on Friday, featuring a mention of the La Liga team in her song titled "Wi$h Li$t."
In the song, she sings:
"They want that freedom, living off the grid.
They want those three dogs that they call their kids.
And that good surf, no hypocrites.
They want it all.
They want a contract with Real Madrid."
It remains unclear why the 14-time Grammy winner chose to mention Real Madrid or whom she is specifically referencing in her lyrics.
Swift performed two sold-out shows at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid, as part of her Eras Tour in 2024.
The 15-time European champions welcomed the attention from her fans, sharing a photo on social media of Aurelien Tchouameni wearing headphones, captioned: 'NOW PLAYING: @taylorswift13 Wi$h Li$t (2025)'.
In a bid to capitalize on the buzz, rivals Atletico Madrid posted a photo of Marcos Llorente and Pablo Barrios on X, captioned 'Our Wish List.'
