Tottenham Secures Dominant Victory Over West Ham
Tottenham Hotspur achieved a convincing Premier League victory against 10-man West Ham United at the London Stadium, intensifying the pressure on manager Graham Potter.
This win elevates Spurs to second place in the league standings, putting them level on points with leaders Arsenal, with Brentford and Chelsea yet to play on Saturday evening.
The victory also marks a significant milestone for Thomas Frank, making him only the third Tottenham manager to win his first two away matches in the top flight, joining the ranks of Ossie Ardiles (1993-94) and Tim Sherwood (2013-14).
However, following a morale-boosting victory against Nottingham Forest prior to the international break, West Ham faced familiar struggles under Potter, as they have not secured a Premier League win at home since February 27.
Concerningly, the Hammers have conceded eight goals in just two home matches this season, a situation worsened by the dismissal of Tomas Soucek in the 54th minute.
At that point, West Ham was already trailing, having allowed Spurs midfielder Pape Matar Sarr to head the opening goal shortly after the second half commenced.
The situation deteriorated further for the hosts when Soucek received a red card for a reckless challenge on Joao Palhinha, leading to Lucas Bergvall doubling Tottenham's lead with a looping header just nine seconds after the match resumed.
When Micky van de Ven seized on lackluster defending to score a third for the visitors shortly after the hour mark, many disappointed home fans began to exit the stadium, leaving their team in 18th place in the table.
