UEFA has imposed a 10-year ban on FK Arsenal Tivat from participating in European competitions following an investigation into match-fixing allegations involving the Montenegrin club.
Several players and officials associated with Arsenal Tivat have also been banned, with UEFA requesting that FIFA extend these bans globally.
UEFA stated that the sanctions, which include a €500,000 (£433,000) fine and are effective up to and including the 2034-35 season, relate to a Conference League qualifying match between the Armenian club Alashkert and Arsenal Tivat in July 2023.
Arsenal Tivat managed a 1-1 draw at Alashkert but suffered a 6-1 defeat in the return leg at home.
UEFA cited Arsenal Tivat for breaching article 11 of its disciplinary regulations, which pertains to "general principles of conduct," and article 12, which addresses the "integrity of matches and competitions and match-fixing."
Arsenal Tivat player Nikola Celebic and official Ranko Krgovic have been "banned from participating in any football-related activity for life."
Additionally, three other players—Cetko Manojlovic, Dusan Puletic, and Radule Zivkovic—have been banned for 10 years.
Despite these challenges, Arsenal Tivat won a relegation play-off last season to secure their position in the country's top division.
