Dan James Ruled Out Due to Injury
Wales winger Dan James has been ruled out of the national team's October fixtures against England and Belgium due to an ankle injury. The 27-year-old is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks after sustaining the injury during training, as confirmed by his Leeds United manager, Daniel Farke.
Farke expressed hope on Thursday that James could return after the November international break, adding that it would be a "bonus and surprise" if he was able to come back sooner.
Wales will face England in a friendly at Wembley on 9 October, followed by a World Cup qualifier against Belgium at Cardiff City Stadium the following Monday.
Despite James' absence, Wales head coach Craig Bellamy can still rely on three players from Leeds: Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon, and Ethan Ampadu. Additionally, Premier League players Brennan Johnson (Tottenham Hotspur), David Brooks (Bournemouth), and Harry Wilson (Fulham) are available for the wide attacking positions, along with Stoke City's Sorba Thomas, who has shown promise at the international level.
As of now, Wales has not called up a replacement for the 59-time capped James.
