Arsenal Defeats Crystal Palace to Extend Premier League Lead
Eberechi Eze scored against his former club as Arsenal secured a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League table to four points.
Eze, who joined Arsenal in a £67 million transfer this summer, netted the winning goal following a well-executed set-piece. Declan Rice delivered a curling free-kick into the box that was headed down by center-back Gabriel, allowing Eze to acrobatically strike the ball into the corner of the net.
Despite their defeat, Crystal Palace posed some threats, with Jean-Philippe Mateta putting pressure on the resilient Arsenal defense. However, they failed to test goalkeeper David Raya significantly.
Arsenal came close to doubling their lead in the second half when Gabriel's header struck the crossbar, and Bukayo Saka nearly scored with a curling shot from the edge of the penalty area.
This victory marks Arsenal's tenth consecutive match without defeat across all competitions.
