Aston Villa Defender Matty Cash Signs New Contract Until 2029
Aston Villa defender Matty Cash has signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract with the club, extending his stay until 2029.
The Poland international joined Aston Villa from Nottingham Forest in 2020 and has since made 193 appearances in the club's claret and blue colors.
Cash's previous contract was set to expire in 2027. He recently scored his second goal of the season, contributing to Villa's impressive 1-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.
“I’m playing with a lot of confidence,” Cash remarked following the match. “To be honest, I’ve always had a good shot; I’ve just never really shown it in games. This season it seems to be going my way, and every time I get the ball on the edge of the box, I feel confident that I’m going to hit the target most of the time.”
The 28-year-old, whose mother is Polish, is the first-choice right-back for both Aston Villa and the Polish national team. He made his international debut in 2021 and represented Poland at the 2022 World Cup.
