Ayden Heaven Remains Committed to England Ahead of World Cup
Manchester United defender Ayden Heaven has confirmed that he will not switch his allegiance from England to Ghana for next summer's World Cup.
Heaven, who was born in London and is 19 years old, qualifies to play for Ghana through his grandparent. The Ghana Football Association has been closely monitoring his progress.
Ghana has been drawn into the same group as England, Croatia, and Panama for the World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
According to sources at BBC Sport, Heaven, who transferred to Manchester United from Arsenal in February after making one appearance for the Gunners, is determined to represent England at the senior level.
Heaven has previously played for England at various youth levels. He suffered an ankle injury while playing for the Under-20s against Switzerland in October, which led to his substitution at half-time, and he was not selected for the subsequent match against Japan in November.
This season, Heaven has made two substitute appearances for United in the Premier League before starting in a three-man defense against West Ham on December 4. He received a yellow card just eight minutes into the match and was replaced at half-time. However, he has started all four matches since then, showing significant improvement in each performance.
Heaven delivered an outstanding performance in the 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa on December 21 and was named man of the match in the 1-0 victory over Newcastle, where United achieved only their second clean sheet of the season.
Manager Ruben Amorim expressed his satisfaction with Heaven's development, stating, "I am really pleased with Ayden. You can feel that he is improving every game. He is young, but you can sense that he has a good game, slows the thinking, and improves during the match. He trained really well, and if he continues to play like that, it will be very hard to take his place."
