Barcelona Extends La Liga Lead with Victory Over Villarreal
Barcelona has reclaimed their four-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga following an exciting victory against 10-man Villarreal.

Raphinha came close to doubling his and Barcelona's tally in the first half, hitting the crossbar with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area.
Villarreal thought they had equalized just before half-time when Jules Kounde inadvertently turned Sergi Cardona's low cross into his own net, but the goal was disallowed for offside against the Villarreal full-back.
Pepe also struck the bar in a one-on-one with Garcia, but that attempt would have been ruled out as well due to an offside infraction after he misjudged his run from Dani Parejo's pass.
The second half was less frenetic as Barcelona sought to capitalize on their numerical advantage. Villarreal goalkeeper Luiz Junior had to make a full-stretch save to deny Fermin Lopez a goal shortly after the break.
Ultimately, Yamal settled the outcome by slotting the ball into the far corner, marking his ninth goal of the season across all competitions.
Georges Mikautadze was thwarted in a one-on-one with Garcia with 13 minutes remaining, but Barcelona comfortably managed the closing stages of the match, extending their winning streak in La Liga to eight games.
Barcelona will return to action after the winter break against city rivals Espanyol on Saturday, January 3 (20:00 GMT), while Villarreal will travel to Elche earlier that day (17:30 GMT).
