Bodo/Glimt Secures Dramatic Draw Against Slavia Prague in Champions League Debut
Sondre Fet's equalizer in the 90th minute earned Champions League debutants Bodo/Glimt a hard-fought point against Slavia Prague after trailing by two goals.
Goals in each half from defender Youssoupha Mbodji appeared to have secured victory for the hosts.
However, Daniel Bassi ignited the comeback with a goal in the 78th minute, followed by Fet's stunning volley that struck the crossbar and found the net, completing a dramatic draw.
Mbodji opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, converting from close range after Lukas Provod skillfully delivered a cross through the Norwegian defense to the back post.
The Senegalese full-back doubled the lead in the 74th minute, again capitalizing on a Provod cross at the back post.
Mbodji's night was eventful; he conceded a penalty in the 52nd minute for a foul on Bassi, but Slavia's Kasper Hogh saw his attempt saved by goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek.
Bassi then brought Bodo/Glimt back into the game, scoring to make it 2-1 shortly after Mbodji was substituted, finishing off a rebound after Slavia was caught out on a counterattack.
Provod struck the post for Slavia before Fet's remarkable volley secured the draw.
