Juventus Secures First Champions League Win with Late Goal
Jonathan David scored in stoppage time, leading Juventus to a narrow victory over Bodo/Glimt and securing their first win in this season's Champions League.
The match began with a surprise as the hosts, Bodo/Glimt, took the lead midway through the first half. Ole Didrik Blomberg capitalized on a corner that was flicked on to him, giving the Norwegian side a well-deserved advantage.
Bodo/Glimt controlled much of the first half, showcasing their ability to maintain possession.
However, Juventus came out stronger after the break and quickly equalized when Lois Openda seized on a loose ball, turning and firing it into the net.
Continuing their offensive push, Juventus had a goal disallowed by the video assistant referee for offside, but they eventually took the lead when Weston McKennie scored with a header.
Despite a brilliant save denying Teun Koopmeiners, Bodo/Glimt appeared to have salvaged a point when Sondre Brunstad Fet converted a penalty with just three minutes remaining.
In a dramatic finish, Jonathan David found the net in the 91st minute, tapping in after Kenan Yildiz's shot was saved.
This victory brings Juventus to six points in the group stage, placing them just three points shy of the top eight, which qualify for the knockout rounds. Meanwhile, winless Bodo/Glimt remains at the bottom of the 36-team league with only two points.
