Burnley Signs Armando Broja from Chelsea
Burnley Football Club has finalized the signing of Armando Broja from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee, reportedly up to £20 million.
The Albanian international striker has signed a five-year contract at Turf Moor, becoming the second player this week to transfer from Stamford Bridge, following Lesley Ugochukwu's move to Lancashire.
"It's a really positive time to be joining this club ahead of the start of the new Premier League season. I can't wait to get going," Broja stated.
He added, "I'm feeling good, I'm ready, and I'm excited about the challenge of playing for this club. I can already feel the support from the Burnley fans. I promise to give my all every time I wear the famous Claret shirt."
The 23-year-old first joined Chelsea in 2020 and made 38 appearances for the Blues across all competitions. However, he faced challenges securing regular first-team football, leading to loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem, Southampton, Fulham, and Everton in recent seasons.
Broja is now Burnley's ninth signing of the summer and will join the Clarets squad ahead of this weekend's home friendly against Lazio.
Scott Parker's team will kick off their Premier League campaign on Saturday, August 16, with an away match against Tottenham at 15:00 BST.
