Celtic to Face Rangers in Premier Sports Cup Semi-Finals
Defending champions Celtic will meet Rangers in the semi-finals of this season's Premier Sports Cup, while Motherwell will take on St Mirren.
Brendan Rodgers' side secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Partick Thistle at Firhill on Sunday, as they aim to capture the trophy for the 23rd time.
St Mirren advanced by defeating Kilmarnock in a penalty shootout on Friday, while Motherwell triumphed over Aberdeen with a 1-0 win on Saturday. Russell Martin's Rangers also had a comfortable 2-0 win against Hibernian.
The semi-final matches are scheduled to take place at Hampden on the weekend of November 1-2.
"Our objective is to get to the final," Rodgers told BBC Scotland. "Both teams will be giving everything to get through, but there’s a lot of football to be played before that."
Among the remaining teams in the tournament, Motherwell has the longest wait to lift the Scottish League Cup, with their only victory occurring back in 1950. Rangers, who have won the trophy 28 times, last lifted it in 2023, while St Mirren's sole triumph came in 2013.
