Chelsea Signs Facundo Buonanotte on Loan from Brighton
Chelsea has secured the signing of versatile attacker Facundo Buonanotte on a season-long loan from Brighton.
The 20-year-old, who spent the previous season on loan at Leicester City, joins Chelsea after the club successfully intervened in Leeds' bid. The London club will pay approximately £2 million to bring the twice-capped Argentina international on a temporary basis.
During his time at Leicester, Buonanotte made 35 appearances, scoring six goals and providing three assists, even as the Foxes faced relegation from the Premier League.
Chelsea's staff includes several members familiar with Buonanotte from their time at Brighton, notably co-sporting director Paul Winstanley and director of global recruitment Sam Jewell.
In related news, fellow Brighton forward Julio Enciso, 21, is anticipated to join Chelsea's partner club Strasbourg for £13.8 million, with plans for him to eventually play for Chelsea after spending a year in France.
Additionally, Enzo Maresca's team recently acquired Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United for £40 million, contributing to a record £265 million in sales for the Premier League.
