Chesterfield Co-Owner Phil Kirk Passes Away at 59
Phil Kirk, co-owner of Chesterfield Football Club, has passed away at the age of 59.
The League Two club announced in March that Kirk, who began his investment in the team in 2022 alongside his brother and fellow co-owner Ashley, had been diagnosed with cancer.
Recently, he entered palliative care after his treatment proved unsuccessful.
In a statement, the club expressed their sorrow, confirming the news with "great sadness" and extending their thoughts to Phil's family and friends.
Chesterfield currently holds the second position in League Two, having won four out of their first five matches this season.
