Desire Doue and Michelle Agyemang Win 2025 Golden Boy and Golden Girl Awards
Desire Doue has been awarded the 2025 Golden Boy title, while Michelle Agyemang has claimed the Golden Girl trophy, both of which honor the top young football talents in Europe.
The 20-year-old French forward, Doue, played a pivotal role last season as Paris Saint-Germain achieved a historic treble, including their first-ever Champions League title.
During the season, Doue scored 16 goals and provided 16 assists across 61 matches, notably netting a double in PSG's Champions League final victory over Inter Milan.
Agyemang, a 19-year-old striker from England currently on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, contributed significantly to the Lionesses' success in the 2025 European Championship by scoring two key goals and earning the title of young player of the tournament.
Despite her impressive performances, Agyemang is set to miss the remainder of the season due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. She has started in five of Brighton's six Women's Super League games this season.
The winners of these prestigious awards were announced during a news conference on Tuesday, with the official ceremony scheduled for December 1.
Established by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the awards are determined through a poll of 50 selected sports journalists from across Europe.
These accolades recognize the best under-21 footballers annually, with Barcelona's Lamine Yamal being named the Golden Boy winner last year, while Vicky Lopez, also from Barcelona, was awarded the Golden Girl.
Previous recipients of the men's award include football legends such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, and Wayne Rooney. In the women's category, notable winners include Germany's Jule Brand and Colombia's Linda Caicedo.
To be eligible for consideration in 2025, players must have been born on or after January 1, 2005, and be part of a squad in one of UEFA's top 25 leagues.
Although still eligible, 18-year-old Yamal was not nominated this year as players cannot win the award more than once.
