Fulham Offers New Contract to Manager Marco Silva Amidst Challenging Start
Fulham Football Club has extended a new contract offer to manager Marco Silva, whose current agreement is set to expire at the end of the season.
The club's board is eager for the Portuguese manager, who previously expressed dissatisfaction with the club's summer transfer activities, to continue his four-year tenure at Craven Cottage.
The 48-year-old had criticized the board for being "passive" just before the start of the Premier League season, as Fulham concluded the transfer window having invested approximately £40 million in five new players.
Despite these efforts, the Cottagers have faced a rocky beginning to the campaign, currently sitting just one point above the relegation zone in 15th place.
Silva, who previously managed Everton and Watford, signed a three-year contract with Fulham in 2023. He successfully led the team to promotion in 2022 and has maintained their position in the Premier League since then.
In the past, he has been linked to managerial openings at prestigious clubs such as Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
