Gonzalo Garcia delivered an outstanding performance, scoring his first La Liga hat-trick to lead Real Madrid to a decisive victory over Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
The 21-year-old forward stepped up in the absence of the injured Kylian Mbappe, opening the scoring with a header in the 20th minute. He then doubled the lead with an impressive volley shortly after the start of the second half.
Raul Asencio extended Madrid's advantage to 3-0 with a header from a corner kick. However, Real Betis managed to pull one back when Cucho Hernandez skillfully rounded Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Despite Betis hitting the woodwork and creating some anxious moments for the home side, Garcia capped off his remarkable afternoon with a brilliant backheel goal from close range.
Fran Garcia added a fifth goal for Madrid in stoppage time, securing a win that narrows the gap between the second-placed Madrid and league leaders Barcelona to four points, while Betis remains in sixth place.
