Josh Sargent Leads Norwich to Victory Over Watford in Carabao Cup
Josh Sargent demonstrated why Norwich City is eager to retain their talented striker by leading the team to a 2-1 victory over Watford in the Carabao Cup.
The Canaries are currently fending off interest from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg and Premier League teams Burnley and Leeds for the 25-year-old forward.
Sargent showcased his value with a well-executed opening goal and an impressive overall performance, helping Norwich advance to the second round of the EFL Cup.
Norwich doubled their lead in the 24th minute when Marcelino Nunez capitalized on a mistake by Watford goalkeeper Egil Selvik, scoring with a powerful shot from 30 yards.

Sargent's composed finish came from 12 yards out, following a clever play and a cutback from Pape Diallo on the left flank. This marked Sargent's second goal of the season, his sixth against Watford, and the 50th goal of his career with Norwich.
Nunez's long-range strike provided some breathing room, aided by an uncharacteristic error from Selvik.
Sargent nearly added a second goal shortly after the break, sending a low shot from the edge of the penalty area just wide of the target.
As the match drew to a close, Watford intensified their efforts, with substitute Baah cutting into the area from the left and finding the net inside the far post, creating a tense finish.
Despite a flurry of late pressure from the Hornets, including multiple corners, Norwich, two-time EFL Cup winners, successfully defended their lead to secure a place in the second round.
