Liverpool Fears Significant Injury for Alexander Isak
Liverpool is concerned that Alexander Isak may have suffered a serious injury to his lower leg after the striker was forced to leave the pitch during Saturday's 2-1 victory against Tottenham.
The Swedish international, who came off the bench to score the opening goal for Arne Slot's team, was fouled by Micky van de Ven immediately after taking his shot and was ultimately unable to continue playing.
The 26-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Newcastle in a record-breaking £125 million Premier League transfer in September, is scheduled to undergo MRI scans on Sunday to assess the severity of his injury.
These scans are expected to provide clarity on how long Isak may be sidelined.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot is set to address the media at a news conference on Tuesday.
In response to questions about Isak's injury on Saturday, Slot remarked, "We’ll have to wait and see. But if a player scores and then gets injured and doesn’t attempt to return to the field, that’s usually not a good sign."
