Manchester United Reports Record Financial Revenue Amidst Poor Performance
Manchester United achieved a record financial revenue of £666.5 million last year, despite the disappointing performance of their men's team on the pitch.
The club finished 15th in the Premier League last season, marking their worst position since the relegation campaign of 1973-74.
The commencement of a five-year front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with Snapdragon contributed significantly to their record commercial revenue of £333.3 million. Additionally, matchday revenue reached an all-time high of £160.3 million for the year ending June 30, 2025.
Chief Executive Omar Berrada commented, "Generating record revenues during such a challenging year for the club demonstrates the resilience that is a hallmark of Manchester United." He added, "As we settle into the 2025-26 season, we are working hard to improve the club in all areas."
While Berrada did not address the team's poor start to the current season, he emphasized that United is focused on building for the long term.
The club reported an overall loss of £33 million, a significant reduction of 70.8% compared to the previous year's loss of £113.2 million.
Manchester United affirmed their commitment to complying with both the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules and UEFA's Financial Fair Play Regulations.
In January, Deloitte ranked Manchester United as the fourth highest revenue-generating club in world football, reporting earnings of £651 million from the previous year. Real Madrid topped the list with £883 million, followed by Manchester City with £708 million and Paris St-Germain with £681 million.
