Manchester United Secures Third Consecutive Premier League Win
Bryan Mbeumo scored twice as Manchester United overcame a late challenge from Brighton to secure their third consecutive Premier League victory for the first time since February 2024, propelling them to fourth place in the league standings.
United appeared to be in control after an hour of play, thanks to goals from Matheus Cunha, who ended his 16-match scoring drought with his first goal for the club, a deflected effort from Casemiro, and a well-placed finish from Mbeumo.
However, Danny Welbeck's stunning free-kick brought Brighton back into the game with 16 minutes remaining. Then, just two minutes into the seven minutes of stoppage time, Charalampos Kostoulas scored with a flicked header at the near post.
This sudden turn of events caused concern among the United players, but Mbeumo's late strike, driven into the roof of the net from 12 yards, ultimately eased the tension and secured the win.
