Morecambe FC's owners have reached an agreement in principle with prospective buyers Panjab Warriors, a development that could potentially secure the future of the struggling club.
Panjab Warriors received approval for their takeover from the English Football League (EFL) in June, following Morecambe's relegation from League Two. However, the club has faced significant turmoil over the summer, culminating in their suspension from the National League amid ongoing negotiations.

This announcement follows a mediation session between the two parties this week, after an earlier session was unable to take place. Panjab Warriors have been attempting to take control of the beleaguered club for over a year, and businessman Jonny Cato has joined in a separate bid for the takeover.
Operations at Morecambe were suspended in late July, shortly after their National League suspension. The timeline for finalizing the Panjab Warriors' takeover remains unclear, according to Thursday's statement.
