Newcastle in Advanced Talks for Jacob Ramsey Transfer
Newcastle United is in advanced negotiations with Aston Villa regarding a transfer for midfielder Jacob Ramsey, who is set to engage in crucial discussions with the Midlands club within the next 24 hours.
The two clubs are working towards finalizing a deal that would see Ramsey move to St James' Park before the transfer deadline, with reports indicating that an agreement is close.
The 24-year-old midfielder will converse with Villa officials before making a decision about his future, as Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe is eager to secure his services.
Should both clubs come to an agreement and Ramsey choose to leave, he will then enter negotiations with Newcastle regarding personal terms.
Although West Ham has shown significant interest in Ramsey this summer, it is believed that Newcastle is his preferred destination if he departs from Villa Park.
Since making his senior debut in 2019, Ramsey has scored 17 goals in 167 appearances for Aston Villa and was a regular starter under Unai Emery last season.
This summer, Newcastle has already made two permanent signings, bringing in winger Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest and defender Malick Thiaw from AC Milan. Additionally, goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has joined the Magpies on loan from Southampton.
