Newcastle United Cancels Tickets Purchased by Dundee School for Champions League Match
Newcastle United has canceled tickets purchased by a school nearly 200 miles away for the Champions League home game against Barcelona.
The High School of Dundee bought 45 tickets for the group match scheduled at St James' Park on September 18.
Lisa Mole, chair of the Newcastle United Supporters Trust, expressed her disappointment, stating that the cancellation was particularly disheartening given that 110,000 fans had recently queued online for remaining seats.
A spokesperson for the school explained that the tickets were purchased in good faith after the school was approached about the opportunity.
However, it has come to light that these tickets were acquired through unauthorized resale, leading to the cancellation of the season tickets of the original fans.
A representative from Newcastle stated, "The relevant season tickets have also been canceled with immediate effect and without refund. These tickets will be made available to Newcastle United supporters through the club's existing ticket sale process."
Further updates will follow.
