Newcastle United to Face Manchester City in Carabao Cup Semi-Finals
Defending champions Newcastle United will face eight-time winners Manchester City in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Chelsea will compete against either Arsenal or Crystal Palace in the other semi-final tie, but they will have to wait until Tuesday, December 23, to determine which of their London rivals they will face.
The quarter-final match between Arsenal and Crystal Palace was rescheduled to avoid a situation where Oliver Glasner's Palace side would have to play three matches within five days, due to their participation in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.
The first legs of the semi-finals are scheduled for the week commencing January 12, 2026, while the second legs will take place during the week beginning February 2.
Chelsea finished as runners-up to Liverpool in both 2022 and 2024, with their last triumph in the competition occurring in 2015.
Manchester City secured the trophy for a fourth consecutive time in 2021 but have not reached the semi-finals since then. Meanwhile, the Magpies claimed their first domestic trophy in 70 years by defeating Liverpool in March.
