Nicolas Jackson Agrees to Leave Chelsea Amid Transfer Interest
Striker Nicolas Jackson has reached an agreement with Chelsea to leave the club.
The 24-year-old trained alone on Friday, following reported interest from Newcastle, who recently missed out on signing Benjamin Sesko, who is headed to Manchester United.
Jackson was not included in the squad for Friday's friendly match against Bayer Leverkusen.
A transfer appears beneficial for both Jackson and Chelsea, especially after the Blues acquired two strikers this summer: Joao Pedro from Brighton and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.
Chelsea aims to recoup at least double the £32 million they invested in signing the Senegalese forward from Villarreal in 2023.
The club believes Jackson's value exceeds the £52 million Arsenal paid for Noni Madueke, citing Jackson's better goal and assist statistics.
If their asking price is not met, Chelsea intends to reintegrate Jackson into the squad.
During his two-year tenure at Chelsea, Jackson has scored 30 goals and provided 12 assists in 80 appearances.
In September 2024, he signed a nine-year contract that extends until 2033.
