Notts County Secures Victory Over Cheltenham Town
Notts County achieved a 2-1 victory over Cheltenham Town in League Two, thanks to first-half goals from Alassana Jatta and Tyrese Hall, propelling them into the top three of the league standings.
Cheltenham managed to reduce the deficit with a goal from Isaac Hutchinson in the second half; however, they were unable to equalize, marking their first league defeat since Steve Cotterill took over as manager.
County dominated the first half, with Joe Day having to fend off an early attempt from Scott Robertson in the 12th minute.
Jatta opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, capitalizing on a corner from Keanan Bennetts that was not properly cleared, allowing him to slot the ball into the net.
Just four minutes later, Hall doubled the lead with a well-executed finish following a sharp turn.
Nick Tsaroulla came close to extending the lead further, but his diving header struck the post with ten minutes remaining in the first half.
After the break, Cheltenham showed improvement, with Ryan Broom's cross finding Hutchinson. Although Hutchinson's initial shot was blocked, he made no mistake with the rebound, scoring for Cheltenham.
Broom later had to clear a header from Lewis Macari off the line to prevent County from scoring a third, but Notts County ultimately secured all three points.
