Premier League Teams' Champions League Opponents Revealed
Both Liverpool and Manchester City will compete against 15-time winners Real Madrid in the league phase of the Champions League, while Tottenham and Newcastle will face the reigning champions, Paris St-Germain.
The 36-team league format, introduced last season, will feature six Premier League teams for the first time, although they will not face each other until the knockout stages.
In addition to facing Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid at Anfield, six-time winners Liverpool will also play Atletico Madrid and beaten finalists Inter Milan during their eight matches. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City will go up against Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.
Chelsea will take on football powerhouses Barcelona and Bayern Munich, while Arsenal will also meet Harry Kane's Bayern and Inter Milan.
Newcastle's return to the competition includes a home match against Barcelona, while Tottenham, who qualified by winning the Europa League, will face Borussia Dortmund and Monaco.
The opening matches are scheduled for Tuesday, September 16, with the final round of league games set to take place on January 28, 2026. Detailed scheduling will be announced in the coming days.
This season's Champions League final will be held in Budapest.

League Format Overview
In the league phase, each of the 36 teams will compete against eight different teams—four at home and four away.
Teams finishing in the top eight will automatically qualify for the last 16, while those placing ninth to 24th will enter a two-legged knockout playoff for a chance to advance.
Teams that finish 25th or lower will be eliminated from the competition and will not drop into the Europa League.
Last season, Liverpool topped the table with 21 points, with Arsenal and Aston Villa also making the top eight. Celtic, Newcastle, and Manchester City advanced to the playoff round, alongside Club Brugge, who finished 24th with just 11 points.
