QPR Signs Isaac Hayden on Free Transfer
Queens Park Rangers have secured the signing of midfielder Isaac Hayden on a free transfer following his release from Newcastle United this summer.
Hayden previously spent four months on loan at QPR during the 2023-24 season, where he made 17 appearances.
Currently, QPR has earned only one point from their first three Championship matches this season, suffering a heavy 7-1 defeat to Coventry City on Saturday.
"I had a few options to go abroad, but if I was going to remain in the Championship, there was only one club I wanted to join, and I’m just glad to have it finalized," Hayden stated on the club's website.
Hayden began his professional career at Arsenal before transferring to Newcastle in 2016, following the club's relegation to the Championship. The 30-year-old Jamaica international played 33 league matches in his first season, contributing to Newcastle's title win in the second tier, and has made a total of 171 appearances for the Magpies, scoring seven goals.
He has also had loan spells at Norwich City, Standard Liege, and QPR, before concluding last season at Portsmouth.
QPR is set to face London rivals Charlton Athletic this Saturday.
