Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is a player admired by Rangers, but head coach Russell Martin remains uncertain about the likelihood of the Crystal Palace winger joining the team at Ibrox.
The 22-year-old, who has netted 22 goals in 96 senior appearances, has previously completed loan stints at Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United.
"He's a player I admired during my time at Southampton. We attempted to bring him in, but it didn't materialize," Martin shared with Sky Sports.
"I like him, and I believe the recruitment team does as well. However, I'm unsure about the current status of any potential move."
"He's a very talented player. We evaluate various profiles that we believe can enhance the team. It doesn't always have to be one specific type of player."
Martin, who recently led the team to a 2-0 victory over Panathinaikos in the first leg of the Champions League second qualifying round, added, "Players come with different attributes, but we need those with the right mentality who are eager to play here. We'll see our position in four weeks."
"There will be many players linked with us, some inaccurately, some closely, and some perfectly."
