Russell Martin has expressed his gratitude for the "incredible" support he has received from Sir Alex Ferguson since taking over as head coach of Rangers.
The former Manchester United manager made his inaugural visit to the club's Auchenhowie training center on Friday, accompanied by Rangers legend John Greig.
Ferguson, 83, played for Rangers from 1967 to 1969, while Greig, 82, dedicated his entire playing career to the club before managing the team for five years.
"Any team talk or message I give is amplified when those two speak about this club and what it means to them," Martin shared with RangersTV.
"They are both fully supportive of us and our efforts. They are eager for this team to succeed.
"They share the same passion as the fans. They want to see a team that fights, works hard, and exemplifies the values they believe this club represents."
Martin previously played under Sir Alex's son, Darren Ferguson, at Peterborough United, where he was appointed captain at just 21.
"Darren reached out and mentioned his father wanted to call me," Martin added.
"I immediately agreed, and since then, Sir Alex has been in regular contact. His personal support has been incredible."
"This was his first visit here, and it was fantastic for everyone to see him."
