Sheffield United Secures Second Consecutive Win Against Blackburn Rovers
Sheffield United achieved their second consecutive victory, moving out of the Championship's bottom three as they came from behind to defeat fellow relegation contenders Blackburn Rovers.
The hosts took the lead just before half-time when Yuki Ohashi scored his second goal of the season, turning in from close range after a well-executed counter-attack.
Sheffield United equalized shortly after the break, with Axel Henriksson inadvertently scoring an own goal in the box just eight minutes into the second half.
The visitors soon gained the advantage when Callum O'Hare set up Harrison Burrows, who fired a low shot into the bottom corner. Tyrese Campbell capped off the performance with a goal in stoppage time, sealing a well-deserved victory.
Sheffield United arrived at Ewood Park following a win against Watford, which had lifted them off the bottom of the table. They started the match strong, exacerbating Blackburn's struggles.
Despite the result, Blackburn is still in search of their first home league win of the season. The hosts had a chance to take the lead in the 25th minute, but Yuki Ohashi missed the target from Henriksson's low delivery.
Sheffield United built momentum as Japhet Tanganga managed to evade his marker and reached Sam McCallum's corner, forcing a remarkable save from Rovers goalkeeper Balasz Toth.
However, it was Blackburn who struck first on the brink of half-time after a brilliant counter-attack. Andri Gudjohnsen delivered a cross from the right, which Dion de Neve set up for Ohashi to score in front of goal.
The equalizer was the result of quick thinking from Djibril Soumare, who capitalized on Tanganga's header, leading to Henriksson's own goal as he struggled to block Soumare's attempt.
Sheffield United completed their comeback with 20 minutes remaining, as Blackburn failed to track Burrows, who arrived from the left to strike low past a diving Toth.
As time dwindled, Burrows delivered a superb low cross to Campbell, who finished effortlessly in front of goal. This victory moved Sheffield United up to 21st place, while Blackburn fell to 23rd.
