Swindon Town Tops League Two After Draw with Fleetwood Town
Swindon Town settled for a draw against Fleetwood Town, but the result was enough to propel them to the top of League Two.
Ian Holloway's side took the lead in the 31st minute, with defender Ryan Tafazolli scoring his first goal for the club. The former Wycombe player headed in a cross from Darren Oldaker.
Aside from a save by Fleetwood goalkeeper Connor Ripley in the second minute from Mark Helm, Swindon controlled much of the match but faced strong resistance from goalkeeper Jay Lynch, who denied them multiple chances before and after their goal.
Fleetwood capitalized during first-half stoppage time, as Matty Virtue sprinted down the right flank and delivered an accurate cross for Ryan Graydon, who headed the ball past Ripley for his fifth goal of the season.
Neither team managed to create significant opportunities in the second half, and the draw allowed the Robins to leapfrog Walsall into first place in the league.
