Wolves Sign Defender Jackson Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona
Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of defender Jackson Tchatchoua from Serie A club Hellas Verona for a fee of 12.5 million euros (£10.8 million). The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the club.
Tchatchoua, an international player for Cameroon, is versatile, capable of playing as both a right-back and a wing-back. Last season, he was recognized as the fastest player in Serie A, achieving an average top speed of 34.88 km/h, with a peak speed of 36.3 km/h.
In comparison, Tottenham's Micky van de Ven was the fastest player in the Premier League during the 2024-25 season, reaching a top speed of 37.1 km/h, with the league record standing at 37.38 km/h.
Born in Belgium, Tchatchoua began his career at Charleroi before spending a year on loan at Hellas Verona, where he later made a permanent move in 2024.
During his time with Hellas Verona, Tchatchoua scored two goals and provided three assists across 37 appearances last season.
This transfer marks Wolves' fifth signing of the current window, following the permanent acquisition of forward Jorgen Strand Larsen for £23 million after a successful loan spell, along with the signings of forward Fer Lopez for £19 million, winger Jhon Arias for £15 million, and defender David Moller Wolfe for £10 million.
