Wolves Sign Genk Striker Tolu Arokodare for £24 Million
Wolverhampton Wanderers have finalized the £24 million signing of Genk striker Tolu Arokodare.
The towering 6ft 6in Nigerian international has signed a four-year contract at Molineux Stadium.
Currently, Wolves sit at the bottom of the Premier League after losing their first three matches of the season.
Arokodare, who netted 21 goals in the Belgian Pro League last season to claim the Golden Boot, is expected to bolster the team's attacking options alongside Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Strand Larsen, a forward from Norway, was the subject of interest from Newcastle United, but Wolves declined offers of £50 million and £55 million for him last week.
At 24 years old, Arokodare has scored 41 goals in 113 appearances for Genk since joining the club from Latvian side Valmiera in 2023. He has also scored once in four matches for the Nigerian national team.
Arokodare's career began in Nigeria before he moved to Valmiera in 2019, where he scored 22 goals in 34 appearances. He was subsequently loaned to FC Koln in the Bundesliga before spending two years on loan at French club Amiens, where he added 21 goals to his tally.
This season, Arokodare has played five times for Genk, finding the net once.
