Amad Diallo's Late Volley Secures Draw for Manchester United Against Nottingham Forest
Amad Diallo struck a powerful volley in the 81st minute to secure a draw for Manchester United in a thrilling Premier League match against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
The visitors initially appeared on track for their fourth consecutive victory and a move to second place in the standings after Casemiro headed them into the lead from a corner, which Forest contested should not have been awarded.
However, the match took a dramatic turn within two minutes of the second half as Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White outmuscled Diallo to connect with a deep cross from Ryan Yates.
Forest quickly capitalized on their momentum, scoring again shortly thereafter. They once again troubled United with a cross from the right, where Nicolo Savona reacted quickest to a header from Igor Jesus that bounced off several players in the six-yard box, calmly beating United goalkeeper Sanne Lammens.
Despite the setbacks, Ruben Amorim's United demonstrated resilience and determination, refusing to succumb to defeat. Bruno Fernandes struck the base of the post before Diallo expertly connected with a looping clearance just outside the area, volleying it past Matz Sels.
Diallo nearly clinched the win in stoppage time, but his shot was cleared off the line by Murillo.

Just a week ago, Brighton's Carlos Baleba, who has been heavily linked with a move to United, struggled at Old Trafford. In contrast, Forest's Elliot Anderson excelled against Amorim's side.
Anderson showcased a level of energy that Baleba lacked, adeptly seizing possession from Matheus Cunha near his own area midway through the first half and chasing down lost causes, including a ball that appeared destined to roll out of play near the home dugout.
He chose his moments to advance effectively and would have been in a prime scoring position had he managed to control Callum Hudson-Odoi's short pass on the edge of the area just before half-time.
Anderson played a key role in Forest’s equalizer, helping to transition the ball to the right where Yates delivered the cross that Gibbs-White headed home.
Once Forest took the lead, Anderson worked tirelessly to thwart United's efforts. His ability to maintain discipline and positional awareness, both with and without the ball, was commendable. He was unafraid to commit a tactical foul, as he did when he brought down Fernandes near the halfway line late in the game, preventing a dangerous counter-attack.
