Arsenal's Ben White Faces Extended Injury Layoff
Arsenal is concerned that defender Ben White may be sidelined for at least a month due to a hamstring injury sustained during their recent victory over Wolves.
The club is still awaiting a definitive assessment of the severity of White's muscular issue, but initial reports suggest he could be out for a period ranging from four to six weeks.
The 28-year-old Englishman limped off the pitch in the 31st minute of Arsenal's 2-1 win against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, with Myles Lewis-Skelly stepping in to replace him in the defense. After the match, Gunners manager Mikel Arteta indicated that the injury appeared to be a hamstring issue.
White's potential absence, having made 11 appearances this season for the Premier League leaders, adds to the defensive woes Arsenal faces ahead of a busy schedule featuring four matches within ten days.
Compounding the situation, Gabriel Magalhaes is expected to be out until the end of the year due to an abductor injury incurred while playing for Brazil during the last international break.
Additionally, fellow defender Cristhian Mosquera is ruled out until mid-January 2026 with an ankle injury.
Fortunately for Arsenal, William Saliba and Jurrien Timber have recently returned to the team's defense following their own injury setbacks.
Looking ahead, Arsenal will face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, followed by a Carabao Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace on December 23. Arteta's side, currently two points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, will also host Brighton and Aston Villa on December 27 and 30, respectively.
