Morgan Rogers scored two second-half goals as Aston Villa overcame West Ham in a thrilling match, extending their winning streak across all competitions to nine matches.
The England midfielder equalized the game at 2-2 just five minutes into the second half, before delivering a powerful shot into the top corner with 11 minutes remaining, giving Villa the lead for the first time in a match filled with momentum shifts.
West Ham, still in search of their first win since November 8, took an early lead just 29 seconds into the match. Mateus Fernandes dispossessed Ezri Konsa at the edge of the penalty area and fired a powerful shot into the top corner from a tight angle.
Aston Villa quickly leveled the score in the ninth minute when Konstantinos Mavropanos inadvertently headed John McGinn's inswinging cross into his own net while under pressure from Ollie Watkins.

Before their visit to the capital, Villa had won 14 of their last 16 matches in all competitions, yet Emery's side struggled for inspiration in a lackluster first-half performance at London Stadium.
Despite quickly equalizing Fernandes' early goal and dominating possession, Villa did not register a shot on target until the 45th minute, when Rogers sent a curling effort just over the crossbar.
However, five minutes after the restart, Rogers found his mark with a composed finish into the bottom corner, swinging the momentum back in Villa's favor at 2-2.
The second half became a more open contest as both teams sought a third goal, with Villa fortunate to avoid falling behind again when Bowen's neat finish was ruled offside.
Rogers' outstanding finish, which marked his fifth league goal of the season, was essential for extending Villa's remarkable winning streak.
Looking ahead, Emery's side will face Manchester United, Chelsea, and league leaders Arsenal before the end of 2025, but they head into this challenging stretch filled with confidence.
