Cardiff City Upsets Burnley to Advance in Carabao Cup
Cardiff City, competing in League One, achieved a notable victory by defeating a significantly altered Burnley team 2-1 at Turf Moor, securing a place in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.

While Burnley manager Scott Parker opted to completely overhaul his lineup after the weekend's game, Cardiff made only five changes from their recent home defeat against Bradford City.
The Bluebirds' greater continuity and promising start to the season were evident as they dominated the early stages, effectively pressing Burnley and maintaining possession with ease.
Cardiff took the lead after 30 minutes when Burnley failed to clear a corner. Will Fish flicked on Perry Ng's cross into the path of Calum Chambers, who then squared the ball for Joel Colwill to tap in.
Burnley's revamped side struggled to establish any cohesive attacking patterns, but they nearly equalized when Armando Broja was set free by Marcus Edwards' through ball, only to be denied by Trott's save.
Cardiff quickly responded with another goal, as a swift attack culminated in a low cross from Rubin Colwill to Robinson, who finished with a well-placed shot.
Although Cardiff could have increased their lead before halftime, the second half became a bit more tense when Trott's careless pass to Edwards allowed Flemming to score a superb shot from 20 yards into the top corner.
Unfazed, Cardiff continued to push forward, with Chambers and Joel Colwill both coming close to scoring again.
Trott redeemed himself by making two quick saves from Mike Tresor, and despite Burnley’s late attempts to pressure the Cardiff defense, Barry-Murphy's squad held firm to secure the win.
