Ipswich Town Signs Norway Forward Sindre Walle Egeli for Record Fee
Ipswich Town has finalized the signing of Norway international forward Sindre Walle Egeli for £17.5 million, setting a new record for the highest transfer fee paid by a Championship club.
The 19-year-old has signed a five-year contract at Portman Road after transferring from FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark, where he netted 11 goals in 40 appearances. He joined FC Nordsjaelland from Sandefjord in his home country at the age of 16.
Ipswich's investment in Egeli surpasses the previous record of £15.4 million, which Burnley spent last summer to secure Mike Tresor's permanent move from Genk.

Egeli becomes Ipswich's 11th signing of the summer transfer window and their fourth acquisition within a week, following the arrival of Marcelino Nunez from East Anglia rivals Norwich City for a fee of £10 million.
The team's relegation from the Premier League has resulted in several high-profile departures, with Liam Delap and Omari Hutchinson sold for a combined total of £67.5 million, which has helped finance the move for Egeli, who is capable of playing on either wing.
The teenager made his senior debut for Norway last September during a Nations League match against Kazakhstan; however, he will not be registered in time to make his debut against Derby County this Saturday.
Kieran McKenna's Ipswich has commenced the Championship season with two draws and one defeat.
