New Consortium Revealed as Preferred Bidder for Sheffield Wednesday

Three members of the consortium selected as the preferred bidder to acquire Sheffield Wednesday have been announced.

The consortium is a privately-funded group of investors led by James Bord and Felix Romer, with Alsharif Faisal Bin Jamil serving as the chief executive.

James Bord is the founder of Short Circuit Science, a sports analytics firm that offers advanced modeling and decision support services to numerous professional football clubs. He successfully completed a takeover of Scottish Championship team Dunfermline last year and has been involved in football ownership across various European clubs.

Felix Romer is described as a German-born entrepreneur renowned for his accomplishments in the online consumer sector, particularly in finance technology, gambling, and software. He is also a shareholder in Short Circuit Science alongside Bord.

Alsharif Faisal Bin Jamil is reportedly a member of the Jordanian royal family. His LinkedIn profile indicates that he serves as a board member for Dunfermline and Spanish second division club Córdoba, in addition to being the group CEO of Short Circuit Science.

Sheffield Wednesday has been in administration since late October, marking the end of the tenure of previous owner Dejphon Chansiri. The Owls currently sit at the bottom of the Championship with a deficit of seven points, having had 18 points deducted this season.
