Newcastle United has not yet received any offers for their leading scorer, Alexander Isak, according to manager Eddie Howe.
The Swedish striker is currently considering his options for a potential summer transfer and has not joined the team's pre-season tour in Asia. Initially, Newcastle stated that Isak was absent due to a "minor thigh injury."
A source informed BBC Sport that Liverpool remains interested in the 25-year-old, even after securing Hugo Ekitike for an initial fee of £69 million.
Newcastle has consistently asserted that Isak is not for sale. Although Howe acknowledges he does not have "full control" over the player's future, he confirmed that no offers have been made yet.
"He is still our player. He's contracted to us," Howe stated at a press conference in Seoul.
"To some extent, we control what comes next for him. I would like to think all possibilities are still open to us.
"My desire is for him to stay, but that decision is not entirely in my hands. We have not received any formal offers for Alex from any club."
Isak joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 in a deal valued at approximately £60 million and still has three years remaining on his contract.
He has netted 62 goals in 109 appearances for Newcastle, including 27 goals across all competitions last season.
