Nottingham Forest's Search for First Win Continues After Draw with Burnley
Boss Ange Postecoglou is still seeking his first victory with Nottingham Forest following an own goal by Oleksandr Zinchenko during a match against Burnley.
The Arsenal loanee inadvertently directed the ball into his own net after Neco Williams had given Forest an early lead with a powerful strike.
Postecoglou has already made a noticeable impact on Forest's playing style, promoting a more expansive approach compared to his predecessor, Nuno Espirito Santo. However, the head coach is still working to instill his philosophy in the team after three matches without a win.
Forest dominated the first half, leading after Williams' stunning second-minute goal, but they could have found themselves trailing as Burnley responded following Zinchenko's misstep.
The defender inadvertently turned Jaidon Anthony's mis-hit shot into the net as he fell, which could have otherwise gone wide.
Burnley came close to scoring through Dilane Bakwa and Chris Wood, while Loum Tchaouna's free-kick struck the crossbar just before halftime.
In the second half, Burnley winger Jaidon Anthony forced Matz Sels into an early save. Although they did not secure a victory, Burnley gained another point to build on after their recent disappointment against Liverpool.
However, the Clarets relied on Martin Dubravka to deny Igor Jesus' header and Williams' late attempt to preserve the draw.
