Preston North End Secures Victory Over Swansea City
Preston North End ascended to fourth place in the Championship following a 2-1 victory against Swansea City, highlighted by a remarkable goal from Thierry Small.
Small opened the scoring for Preston with an impressive 30-yard strike that found the top corner, giving the Lilywhites an early advantage.
Swansea had opportunities to level the match but were unable to capitalize before Milutin Osmajic extended Preston's lead shortly after the start of the second half.
Despite the setback, Swansea persisted and managed to score when Eom Jisung's shot from the edge of the area found the bottom corner with just ten minutes remaining.
However, Preston, one of the surprise teams in the second tier this season, maintained their composure to secure their third consecutive victory. This win positions Paul Heckingbottom's squad just two points shy of the automatic promotion spots after 14 matches in the 2025-26 season.
On the other hand, Swansea's defeat marks their third loss in the last six league matches, leaving Alan Sheehan's side in 17th place, six points away from the playoff positions and eight points clear of the relegation zone.
