PSV's Late Equalizer Denies Olympiacos First Champions League Win
Substitute Ricardo Pepi scored in the dying moments of stoppage time, securing a point for PSV and thwarting Olympiacos's bid for their first victory in this season's Champions League.
After suffering defeats in their opening two away matches against Arsenal and Barcelona, Greek club Olympiacos aimed to find solace on home turf. They made an ideal start when Gelson Martins netted a stunning goal in the 17th minute.
PSV had previously dominated Napoli with a 6-2 victory, but they struggled to replicate that form in this match, managing only one shot on target throughout the 90 minutes.
Meanwhile, Olympiacos could have extended their lead, with Martins striking the crossbar in the second half and Daniel Podence's effort being saved by PSV goalkeeper Matej Kovar.
As the match progressed, it seemed that Olympiacos would regret their missed chances. Those fears were realized when Pepi volleyed in an equalizer in the 93rd minute.
At full-time, the Olympiacos players appeared devastated, having come so close to securing their first three points in the group stage of the Champions League.
